We've got Sportlines on our Mach as well, it looks amazing and rides really well. I can't remember what springs I have on the Cobra at the moment.
His concern with lowering, especially as much as sportlines do, is that it will affect his back too much. And I will say that on my GT I got pretty beat up with them.

pull the spring isolaters and rotate the rear springs... good way to lose an inch or more with the same spring rate
still looks slow, but looks one sousand times better without the black stain on the hood in front of the "scoop"
Yeah, I'm not a fan of that either. Same with people who make the side or hood scoops black.. Looks out of place. I do like the black decals on the mach 1 hood, though I don't like the black wing.

Understood. I drive the Mach pretty regularly and I'm exhausted after training. The ride is stiff, but not bearable and thats on 18's with low profile tires. I guess everyone has their different tolerance levels though. I think after driving so many foxbodies, a lowered 99 will still ride like a Caddy in comparison for him. JMO.
lol, I meant to say something to head everyone off at the pass about that.. Don't know if I'll lower it or not. Aesthetically I want to, but my bad back has other ideas.
i know on my 00GT i had sportlines in the front and steeda springs on the rear and i didnt notice any difference in the harshness of the suspension.
