  • Onstar Charges?

My dumbass FIL, drove his '11 Vette into the garage, left it in drive, turned off the engine, got out and locked the doors. The remote will not work or is still in the car, not sure yet. How much will they charge to unlock it through the OnStar?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I doesn't sound like it. The window is cracked a few inches so I am going over tomorrow to get into it if OnStar is too expensive.

Why not call Onstar and ask?

My whole year on onstar is only $200 so couldn't be to much for a simple unlock. If he has an iPhone have him hook up the onstar app next time so you won't pay anything.

If the account is active, it should be free.
            onstar:
            1-888-466-7827

BTW, it's $21.50 per month for the basic plan(no nav).

Thanks. I will call them tomorrow and get more info. What I got was from my wife at midnight last night and all i remember is what I posted and that her mom couldn't get her arm in far enough. That right tells me I can get the door open somehow if OnStar is more than a few bucks. Besides, gives me an excuse to go drive the piss out of their vette.

I'm not familiar with the interior of a newer vette (no baller) if the windows are cracked, can you not fish a wire hanger in and press the unlock button?

I've only used it a few times for a cell phone when I've been in some bad cell coverage areas and once for a diagnostic code reader.

Yep, Onstar wouldn't have been able to help with that one.

Should be free- assuming satellite picks up in the garage- mine is hit and miss depending on time of day

                            Onstar is cellular. not satellite.
