  • A guy I worked with for 14 years...

killed himself. Dude was in his mid 50's and had a VERY good attitude. His life has been tuff for the last few years with family health problems and other stuff. So... hug your family or make amends before its too late. Sorry to bring the mood to shit but I think some people can benefit from other peoples REAL problems. Its gonna be a while before I can tolerate a young person bitch about twitter or some shit like that.

Probably. I'm not sure on details, happened about 4-5 years ago.

My father-in-law is on my dead pool list for this year because of this. If he does, I sure hope he does it outside the house for the sake of my sweetheart of a mother-in-law.

Sorry to hear about your buddy. I know that longtime coworkers become more like family than some family.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Man hate reading stuff like this. For the past two years. Two different guys that I knew through my GF did the same thing. One guy Hung himself cause he just couldnt stand life for whatever reason. The other guy shot himself in the chest cause his wife was leaving him.

Its just sad, Life is Beautiful! No matter what the problems going on in your life. Nothing is worth ending it till its your time to go. The birds & Sky & kids are worth starting a new day each day & knowing that it might suck right now. But it wont suck Forever

Went through this St Paddy's day 2011 with a mentor of mine, also a friend and coworker. Sorry for your loss. He and I were in similar situations at the time so it hit close to home. It's going to be really tough on your for a while to come if y'all were close. Some days I'm still angry about it.

Another guy from the company took his own life 6 weeks ago over losing his kids. seems to me kids would be the reason you would overcome. I didn't know him but I still don't understand. Well I am still shocked but my problems seem like they are nothing compared to 99% of dfwstangs problems

Alot of people do it because of the question "what's the point?"

When I was diagnosed wrong and put on heavy meds, they made me suicidal and one day I took 2 bottles of heavy duty knock you dead pills. the wife walked in on me right after I took them and she called 911. I don't remember any of it. I remember taking the pills, frantically writing a note, and then i remember waking up in ICU. Once they got me off those fucking meds, I was completely different. Anyway, while I was in a rehab/mental place for a week afterwards, my roommate was a suicide watch as well. he was in his 50's and was also a former Marine. A successful man with no reason to kill himself.....just like me......except he had the same question I did: "what's the point?"
Well, I don't know what the point is, but I do know that keeping yourself busy in projects and forcing yourself to get some damned sunlight and exercise has completely changed me. If you have never been in the place as someone that tries suicide, you have no idea of how lonely and depressed you can actually feel. You try to kill yourself because you actually think the world would be better off without you. I honestly thought it was the least selfish thing I could do for the world.

sorry you lost a friend and im very sorry a human being can ever feel that bad.
May God give us strength and courage in the time of our darkest hours.
