  • 2 offers within 4 hours of listing our home for sale

    Listed our home on the mls this morning and had 2 offers by lunch time. Asking 270k, one offer was just too low, the other was for 265k and they asked us to pay 5k of closing costs. If it were you, would a counter of 269k and pay 4k toward closing be a decent counter? Just thinking out loud here, looking for others input sincere wife and I have been considering what to counter with.

    Or, ask them for 265 and they pay the closing. That's impressive right off the bat.

        I dont know much about selling a home but I would say, 265 and not pay a dime of closing cost. 10 racks isn't chump change.

            I would not get greedy. That's a real good offer sounds like they just want you to cover closing cost so that's what I would do

                What do you think you want to do? Sounds like you want to sell it but you are wanting more money. I say dont get greedy, if your place is worth what they are asking then sell it. Do not listen to the realtor they told me our place would only bring what others around were bringing in. But I think thats bull crap.

                    I've had that happen with the last 2 houses I've owned. If I were you I would tell them that you have another offer and as a result you'll take $270K and split the closing costs. That's worked for me.

                      But I just found out they already sold their home on Monday so they need a place vying Sept 4.

                        Damn, our house has been on the market since Feb.... no offers at all. Reduced the price by $10K two weeks ago. Still waiting.

                              You selling to upgrade? In a Hurry? Are you asking above what the home is worth? Do you feel like moving the fridge? I always try and sell the appliances with the joint, so i buy nicer stuff.

                              Id come down 5k if you really need to sell If not. How are the other houses in your area?
