We are rocking over a hundred now with deaths from this bug in DFW. If that was the murder rate the friggen national guard would be on the street.


Can we just get a few more trucks out spraying instead of why they tell us they can't or no need?


When I lived in New Orleans they sprayed the first couple years after Katrina. Once they slowed or stopped the Mosquitos came back fast.

This is BS put more spray trucks on the job and educate people about standing water.

I've been bitten by dozeeeeeeens of mosquitos this year. I'd rather die of west nile then smell like Off.

There are no medications to treat or vaccines to prevent West Nile virus infection. People over 50 years old and those with compromised immune systems are at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill when they become infected with the virus.

It is their job to protect us all. Last time I checked this is why we pay taxes. When I am out I spray deep woods off like you read about. I am not worried about myself. It just seems this is the huge story of late with little being done about it. Like most things in this world it is about protecting those who can't protect themselves. Yet this is a slow pitch that by spraying and making people more aware it could help a ton.

Compromised immune system doesn't mean they had aids you dumbass. There are many other things that can compromise an immune system (diabetes, cancer, chemotherapy, hep, etc). Age alone can compromise it. You sound pretty ignorant.

Yeah-this is worrying me a lot right now. My daughter was just diagnosed (officially) with JRA and will be having to take Enbril injections twice a week. It's an autoimmune suppressor which means her immune system will be compromised. With mosquitos and the flu season coming up, I'm a little freaked out. However, as Eric, Jared, Don and a bunch of others can attest, we don't go out the door without dousing ourselves in OFF. AND we did spray our front and back yard with the yard treatment stuff and we still have swarms.

Just pisses me off it is one of the first things on the local news every night with no plan to combat it. I know it is just bugs but it seems like the cost per death rate to enforce it would be lower. You would think politicians would be all over it showing they are doing something. That plus it would be nice if they actually were for once instead of flapping their gums.
