One of my roomates in the Army was a dude that enlisted at 30 or 31.. He had no issues but I would be most concerned about:
1. Being constantly surrounded by a bunch of dumb-ass 18yo.
2. Lower tolerance for nonsense than at 18 (meaning what crap I would be willing to put up with).
3. Nearly everyone senior to you being younger than you.
If you can deal with all of that, then go for it!

I thought about it a lot in my late 20's/ early 30's. Then my life demanded to stay local (Mom's and Dad's health failed, those years sucked BTW).
After that great fun was over I was basically too old. I would not have enjoyed being in my mid thirties yelled at by younger, better shape, higher ranking kids that cant buy beer. Some cars and a bike...
Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

There is nothing wrong with wanting to serve later in life but I would recommend looking at where you want to be in 10+ years and seeing if the military will help you get there. If you have a degree you can become an officer, way better pay and not as much babysitting but a shit ton of paperwork (at least in the army).De Oppresso Liber.
