I just left my last job for a slightly lower paying job I actually enjoy. I was there for just over a decade and watched it decay into a worthless place of sadness. The new place is great, and a nice change, I figure in another ten years I will be to the point where I'm ready to make the family ranch a full-time gig and leave most of highly populated society behind for the peace and quiet of extreme rural living.

Take a vacation before you make this decision.

      I prefer St. Thomas.

A camping trip works wonder for me as well. Whatever you do, go for at least a week.

Man, I think that is super important. Work doesn't completely melt away for the first couple of days. Nine days off, weekend to weekend, is the only way to fly. I hadn't taken a full week off in over 5 years when we went to Bonneville last year. It really works wonders for your soul.

To HELL with only taking two days off in two years, that is insane. I feel like I never do anything, but damn. You don't want to be the pasty white guy that dies of a heart attack at 45 do ya? Your "real" life is much more important than answering the god damned phone or replying to emails.
Right on. I damn sure don't, as I just turned 45. Getting old sucks, as does not taking vacations.

No money in videography, splicing got boring and sucky, shore tanking was awesome money but kill me now God boring, and nursing seems like a way to use the things im good at (steady hands with a fast mind) and be able to give back to my community.

You gotta get away from whatever doesnt feel right or your ass will end up in the wacky ward.

and those motherfuckers that tell you that you can't do something look great when you actually do it and smile at them with a shit eating grin.
So, you got that waiver you need after being hospitalized (twice) for mental illness within the last 5 years?

You could always try just advancing where you are. Doing the same old shit gets old. I just changed jobs after nine years in one place and the change of pace is nice, I am learning about all sorts of new things. That challenge pads the resume pretty well and gives you a nice sense of accomplishment.
