DALLAS - A Dallas police sergeant is being investigated for remarks he allegedly made to two lesbian officers while eating a Chick-fil-A sandwich.
It happened August 1 on Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day when people were asked to support the restaurant chain’s president on his stance on traditional marriage.
The sergeant allegedly placed a sandwich in front of the female officers while at the Southeast and allegedly placed the sandwich in front of the female officers and said, 'Guess where I ate today?' He allegedly made more comments during a detail.
They moved the sergeant to an overnight shift and launched an internal affairs investigation.
The Dallas Police Association represents all three officers involved. Their president, Ron Pinkston, said the department is punishing the sergeant without hearing all the evidence first. The department says it’s letting internal affairs handle this issue.
