  • Is there a decent Toyota dealer around here?

Trying to buy a new Prius for Robin. Seems all the Toyota dealers
have got pretty crappy reviews... any recommendations would
    be welcome and appreciated.

I've never heard of the import stealerships being anything but straight up morons that play that, "let me go talk to my manager" bullshit. Even at the top end ones, I went to Acura (Mac Churchill in FTW) and thats all they did. I even told him I was not there for any games, gave him my bottom price to buy and still go that song and dance. I went to Volvo (still owned by Ford) gave them my X-plan and was in and out in an hour with a new car.

^^that is what i got at toyota of dallas. The manager thing. That and they lied to me. I left the dealership after looking at a truck i really liked and haggled a bit. I got a call a day or so later saying that the truck was gone, but there is a few new trucks on the lot to look at. I can't tell you the rage when I saw the truck I was looking at was still on the lot.

Yup, TOD is famous for that bullshit as well.

Thats one thing I can say for Skip at Grapevine, he'll sell you the car at a great price and no bullshit on the side.

I just happened to be there when the slimeball kid salesman with frosted tips drove off at some point, in his shitty camaro.

My mom bought a Highlander at Freeman Toyota earlier this year and they were great. My uncle is buddies with (one of?) the owner(s) though so she got special treatment. I went with her and we didn't have to go through any of the typical dealership BS but your mileage may vary.

Yeah, no shit. Makes it hard to buy anything other than a ford, because I don't want to buy from anyone other than him....

Stay away from Texas Toyota Grapevine. They completely suck. 4 square games, swapping sales guys, 'talk to manager' BS, etc. It's a complete circus POS over there. At least that was my experience over there several years ago. My gf (at the time) and I walked out after 1.5 hours and almost getting in a physical altercation with the sales manager. It was a disaster.

When I dealt with Skip a few months ago, he mentioned that they same ownership group purchased the Toyota dealership next door. At least that is what I recall. I may be wrong.

We've been trying to deal with Grapevine now, and I'm getting pretty frustrated with the whole ordeal.

Yes sir, he will make things pleasant for sure. If it wasn't for my hook up at Bankston Ford, I would buy my Fords from him. He did match their prices on my sons 13 stang and I didnt even tell him what they were selling me the car for. Its just so much closer for me than to drive to Grapvine, especially with all the traffic bullshit over there.

Stay away from Toyota of Lewisville. Worst car buying experience i have ever had.

I've had great luck with Toyota of Rockwall.

I find that buying from anyone other than Ford can be an ordeal. I would probably go online, find the car. Email them to make sure it is in stock and then go up there with a check or back draft ready to go. Thats the best way not be involved in any reindeer games...

Don't know of one to recommend. But as you already know, if you buy close to where you live, it makes repairs a lot easier and they should take care of you a lot better. I will never buy a vehicle without a dealer right down the street.

Currenlty have a Tundra. Closest dealer is 20 minutes away, problem is I bought it from a dealer 45 minutes away. No one closer with help me worth a shit.
