Hey check it out, its a genuine Rat Rod lawn mower!

5hp Briggs and Stratton Industrial motor with cast iron core.
Its belt driven to the blade. That means you can mow over most things without damaging the motor eg; roots, sticks, rocks, bricks, yard ornaments, empty beer cans you threw off the patio, shoes the kids left out in the yard, the dead squirrel at the curb, the pliers you just found with it, along with numerous other objects that you find while in the process of mowing. So I guess this Rat Rod mower can also be considered some sort of "detector" whether it be for metal objects or as far as that goes objects made of damn near anything.

This Rat Rod is chain driven baby!!! and you know what that means....It will navigate over any terrain you put it to! Works wonders plowing thru the tomato garden, hell the tomatoes werent growing for you anyways, so get rid of em. Drives up bushes and shrubs leaving them neatly pruned on the side you decided to drive up. When encountering curbs, it will climb or descend them without hesitation. And depending on the amount of beers you have partaken in, The Rat Rod lawnmower will cross the street, on its own, to do justice to ole man Jenkins lawn and pink flamingos.

Other details.... You can put it in gear, or out of gear by the simple swing motion of an old gear handle borrowed from a 1947 John Deere tractor. The front wheels are salvaged from a 50's model Briggs and Stratton. The rear wheels were on the platform and work in harmony with the chain driven gear. The platform itself is from the 50's. The paint job is unique and certainly one of a kind. Gray primer accented with black enamel stripes. Also recently, I mounted a car antennae to the platform and put a squirrel tail at the top of the antennae. The squirrel I got from my front curb and the Rat Rod mower was decent enough to remove the tail without damage to it!

So be the only one in the neighborhood, or even the country with an awesome looking Rat Rod lawnmower. You will be proud to leave it in your driveway, pull up a lawn chair a cooler and your BBQ grill, admiring it between flips of your burgers and drinks of your Pabst Blue Ribbon. Not to worry about company either, because this Rat Rod lawnmower brings plenty of attention and lots of conversation, your driveway will be filled with company.

    Asking 300.00

needs more rust and pinstriping. red wheels and mooncaps with a whitewall painted on. flat black handlebars are a must.

    than maybe 300.

I remember running one of these as a child.

Mine was so old that the metal drive cogs were worn down to match the knobby tires. It was welded back together so much that it weighed twenty pounds heavier than stock.

Those things are tough. It was at least 20 years old when I started using it at 8. My dad got rid of it (still running and cutting grass with ease) when I was 26.

I have 1.5 acres to mow and I do most of it with a riding mower, but I'd like to cut down on my time spent and less wear and tear on the riding mower. I am looking for a self-propelled mower I can stake out in the yard and let it wind around and cut saving time. Don't laugh, it makes perfect sense. People have been doing it for ages. Working smarter, not harder.

Buy a goat and a rope. Move when needed.
