Yeah, the terrain sucks here for that. The EB was perfect. But hey I can't complain, free truck, and free gas. lol

I never said I had personal experience. But with uncles and first cousins, that makes 13 wrenches in the family. 3 work in Chrysler dealerships, and none of those driver Dodges. The one mech that does drive a Dodge got talked into it, and is kinda young, 21. He is working on the paperwork to get it "bought back" by Chrysler for all the problems. He bought against advice for family, but now understands.

I do have one high school buddy that got a good one, but between trucks that have been thru those Chrysler stealerships, or thru the other family shops for stuff that was not covered under warranty, or the few that people kept longer than 100k, the numbers are basically 9:1 crap to good trucks. And it seems like if u get a good one they last very well, but once one thing starts having problems, they crumble.

If you have good luck carry on, but many suckers like u were not so lucky.

      Oh, and fuck you 3.

My buddy has an EB 2012 Expedition. He claims right under 30mpg when he went to Palestine and back from Dallas. But this same guy told me he was hunting a few years back and jumped out of his tree stand onto a deer, broke off an antler, and stabbed the deer to death with it. No word on how many points the deer was, but I am guessing it was -1 after he pulled the Rambo.

I bought one a couple months ago and I love it!! It's got plenty of power for my daily travels.

On the highway I get 31 mpg cruising at about 65. When I get into town and the turbos are spinning more, just like my truck, the MPG drops drastically. it averages around 22-23 in the city. I still couldn't be happier.

BTW, just for those that are not already aware. EPA mileage figures are calculated with pur gasoline. They don't test with E10, which robs you of mileage. That said, I've been able to get the highway mileage or better on every car I've owned except this 2010 Equinox I bought for my wife. However I rarely get the city mileage that is promised.

Back on that Equinox. It's the four banger that is supposed to get 32mpg. The best I can do is 30mpg highway (when I'm the only one in the car) and usually I end up getting 28mpg with my wife, kid, and crap loaded. That's still pretty decent so I don't bitch too much..

I'm really happy to see these opinions. I've found myself more and more in need of a pickup, so I'm planning to sell the Bimmer and get an F150 Lariat. I think I'll skip EcoBoost, get the 5.0, and save $1000 in the process.

So the power is adequate? I test drove one and thought it got around pretty good. How are they on towing capacity?

I was averaging 24-26mpg in my '12 SHO Taurus feather footin' it between 65-70. I commute 82 miles a day, all highway, from Denton to Plano/Richardson & back with some light traffic on my way to work.
The 3.5L EcoBoost was an amazing engine, with very little turbo lag, and a good amount of power. Mine was even Stage 4 tuned by Livernois in Michigan and still coudl get great MPG. The new SHO Taurus' are hitting low 13's with Stage 4 tunes & CAI. Livernois was also involved in cracking the '13 F150 EB's for tuning. I think they're hitting 13's as well.

I got my wife a 2012 ecoboost 4x4 3.55's, she averages 16.4 driving 50 miles a day, 65 percent hiway 35 city driving, if I drive it to exactly the same places she goes I average about 19. We took it to San Antonio this weekend, going south into a 20 mph headwind average speeds of about 80 it got shitty 17.2. Coming back north with a 15 mph tail wind average speed of 74 it got 20.8. When people bitch about the fuel milage my first thought is, you must drive like a woman. (or at least like my wife)

I didn't read through all the posts, but I just wanted to update with my mileage.

'11 FX2 w/3.55s bought new on 1 OCT 2011 and currently has 24000 miles. It actually seems that as more miles get on the truck the better it does. I expected this to happen a lot sooner (3-5000 miles), but it seems to have happened in the last 5000. Normal city/highway is 20 on the nose. Previously it was around 18.

One tip for better economy...don't use the remote start for extended periods of time. Go figure, right?

The power is very adequate. It's not near as quick as my eco boost F150 but it has plenty. You can feel it pull fairly well on the freeway too, it's torquey.

They say you can't tow with an eco boost edge. The bumpers don't have provisons for the trailer hitch (the other motors have cut outs in the rear bumper) That being said I'm sure you can modify it. I would like to be able to tow with it. I would rather take my ski to the lake with it rather than my truck.

Jealous, I'd love to have a new SHO as a daily driver. Used to have a First Gen and loved it, always felt quicker than what it was and plenty of room.

Why would the F-150 be quicker if they have the same motor? I'd figure the Edge would... you know.. have the Edge because it's a smaller and lighter vehicle with essentially the same power.

I'm still on the fence here about the EcoBoost motor. I like the idea of better gas mileage as long as it doesn't cost a bunch more than the 5.0 motor. But I hate having a more complicated EcoBoost motor if it's not returning much of an advantage compared to the proven 5.0 V8. Subscribing to this thread now.

The edge does not have a 3.5L V6 twin turbo, it has a single turbo 4 cylinder. The Flex is the one with the 3.5L TT.

My bad. Wonder why they didn't do the Edge with a 3.5? I can see the Escape having the single turbo 4 banger but the Edge is a bigger vehicle.
