Hazard lights are used to warn drivers of a potential problem with your vehicle while it is in motion, alert other vehicles that you are on the side of the road, alert others of an emergency such as a need to get to a hospital, or as a signal to other drivers of slowed speed due to an accident ahead.

Someone flashers being doesnt not signal me that they are in a hurry, usually, like stated above, its means something is wrong with your shit and you're going slow.

It's not that all the drivers in DFW are bad drivers, it's that they are dickheads.

If the politicians really wanted to promote driving safety, they would take a big chunk of the revenue from moving violations and put it into drivers education for high schoolers.

Flashers aka hazards are not typically used to tell the world you are in a hurry. Typically when people use them they mean look out cause there is something wrong with my car or go around me because I'm moving slow as fuck.

Now...flipping the high beams on and off while laying on the horn...yeah that usually elicites more of a response. That to me screams "get the fuck out of the way!".

apparently you dont know what the flashing lights are for. The ones that get to the hospital faster are on an ambulance

I've never considered flashers to mean get the fuck out of the way. Only see them on cars that are driving super slow.

Yeah, those 'flashers' are technically called hazard lights. So when they are lit most people think there is a hazard, not that you now have the right to speed and drive erratically.

You're lucky no one got mixed signals and caused you to really need an amberlamps.

Flashers to me mean "emergency" or "problem". If someone comes flying up in the left lane with their hazard lights on obviously it means they are trying to get somewhere fast and I'd move over. That being said, it doesn't give you the right to speed, and a cop will pull you over for speeding flashers or not so it's a risk you take.

Apparently the general consenses is that people dont think that flashers signal an emergency, regardless of the definition you pulled off the internet. but yeah, someone hauling ass with their flashers on, flashing their lights , honking their horn......I could figure out that i need to give way, but like I stated earlier.....people are dickheads.

20+ years ago drivers pulled over to the shoulder (where possible) for funeral processions. That common courtesy is rarely extended any more by the "I, me, mine" drivers of today.
