I've worked with a couple gay guys and went to school with some.
Even in school you could tell they were gay and had feminine traits so when they "came out" it was never a big shock.
One of my best friends is queerer than a three dollar bill but he's a great guy. He says he knew for his whole life he was gay.
Another guy I know is gay but only is "out" to his close friends. His parents don't know. Work doesn't know. He even dated a chick for a while.
Another guy I work with says he came from a small town and never even knew what being gay was until he moved to a big city. He discovered the lifestyle and decided it's what he wanted. And this dude knows more about sports than almost anyone I know. It's so weird to hear some gay dude throwing around sports stats like it's second nature to him LOL
So all in all I think gay people are probably born that way, but depending on where and how they're raised contributes to whether or not they decide to come out or not.
