If it ever came down to it, I would support you for a mod over Matt. Don't get too happy, because that isn't saying much, but it is factual.

Alas, victory is mine. i left "you fucking idiot" in where I quoted you, not because it had any relevance to the rest, but just because it was funny.

      • I at least admit I'd be a horrible moderator. Not because I'm incapable of being impartial but because the things I'd let go on would tear the world apart. Name calling? Don't care. You delete a thread because you're butt hurt? It comes back.

That sounds like the MO of the mods already. And there isn't anything wrong with it.

Now I am calling BS on that. If you have been on the wrong end of a cops gun pointed at you more than once in your life, you have a pretty fucked up world or are a major crook

Not really. One night I was driving down 224 towards Commerce and was pulled over. Cop came up to the car with weapon at low ready and asked for ID. Evidently, someone with a black, midsize truck, matching my description (the truck, not me) had done something or another and he came up with weapon drawn. Completely understood that, aside from the stroke I almost had.

Then there was the time I was sitting with lights out in a parking lot after hours and I'm guessing Rockwall PD thought I looked suspicious as one was on each side, weapon drawn.

There's been a couple other times, once on base, once in Killeen. And I'm always polite, show my hands, answer pertinent questions to the point and provide DL, ins, military ID and CHL.

I tend to drive blacked out vehicles with effort made to remove anything reflective from them. I'm guessing it looks suspicious.

Are you that sheltered or are you joking? I have no record at all and no criminal convictions. In my younger days I was roughed up by two officers two separate times, had more than one vehicle purposefully damaged by an officer, had several pistols drawn on me and a couple pointed at me. The chick cop in Florida pointed hers at my face, I still haven't forgotten that visual, lol.

                • Guess I am sheltered. Grew up in a shitty hood, Harry Hines on one end and Denton Drive on the other. Some of the only white folks in the neighborhood. NEVER had an issue with DPD (or any other PD)...Got some tickets in my younger days but NEVER saw the wrong end of a cops gun. The local beat cop was pretty cool. He helped me get my first job.
Hell , I lived in Garland for a while and never had issues with them knuckle draggers either...Maybe I was lucky, or I just lead a sheltered life as you say and learned to be respectful.
Golly , I Didn't realize that the police were this out of control. Somebody should do something, sounds like they're worse than the street gangs....

                    That's our job!

Thanks man, and thanks for stepping up to the plate. These wars might be about questionable prerogatives but the fact that you stepped up and did your duty as a American shows nobility in your character.

Sometimes I believe that wars needs to be brought to U.S doorsteps for the American society to really understand the gravity of war, and all that it takes to fight it.

Many of them are. That's why there are so many videos of them acting like it. Otherwise, the videos and reports wouldn't exist

.45% of Americans have fought in the WOT. Less than 1/2 of 1% have carried the entire country and as a whole, the country has done dick about it. Our benefits and care and pay are the first things on the chopping block. They've been asked to sacrifice nothing. No war bonds were sold, no plants were shut down to fund the war. Nothing.

There's a difference between unholstered and "drawn". I unholster behind the leg when I need to. I rarely draw down on someone making them see the business end of my .40, or ONCE my .223.

If I have my weapon out of it's holster and walk up to you, is it unholstered or drawn?

Unholstered.... Though generally not a good idea to walk up to a uniformed cop like that. Heh.

Oddly enough, I've told a cop something similar.
