It's just a bizarre set of circumstances. The bottom line is, you point a gun at a deputy sheriff or police office, you're going to get shot," Herrell said.
    What a fucking joke.

Apparently the right choice would have been to shoot through the door.

This country is fucked and these dumbass fuxking cops need to be treated just the same as anyone else who accidentally kills someone.

That's a fucked up situation, but really, what was the cop supposed to do, wait and see if he got shot first, then fire back?

Sure, if they were at the right apartment to begin with, it would not have happened, but they fucked up and went to the wrong door and it went downhill from there.

They are supposed to identify themselves.

                This.

All they had to do, was say "It's the police." This all would have been avoided. They should be charged with murder.

It would have been nice to know what kind of drugs they found in his apartment also. This shouldn't have happened either way; but was it some skitzed out dude freaking out with a gun, or some pot head playing video games with some McD's? Two very different type of people that they could be dealing with, but all it says is drugs. I'm guessing it was pot, because drugs sounds worse than marijuana. Another drug would be identified, since heroin/crack/meth sounds bad enough on it's own they wouldn't need to spin it off as "drugs".

I totally agree that they should have ID'd themselves, but what if he was in bed (1:30 AM) and all he heard was the knock on the door and still came with a gun drawn wondering who the hell is at the door at this hour... I'd never hear anything anyone said at my front door if I was asleep.

I am in no way saying they were justified in shooting him, but the circumstances all played into the situation we have here.

I pulled my pistol on some police officers knocking on my apartment door one night at 4am. Apparently the old tennant was some stripper/prostitute that got beat up and left for dead in the middle of Las Colinas Pkwy. She never changed her address, so they came knocking and didn't say anything, but luckily we didn't have a shootout.

Oh look, the police want nothing to do with personal responsibility. I'm really surpised. Blame it on everyone but them!

I guess uniforms with patches and badges that say "Police" aren't good enough...
