Don't waste your money. They are generally selling select cuts as choice, choice as prime, etc. if you can't look at three different cuts and tell what grade they are, then go right ahead because you wouldn't know any better anyways.

This last order from Grill Masters hasn't turned out so well so far. I'm not new to grilling chicken and so far I can't seem to make this turn out decent. I don't think i'll even waste my time with their "warranty"...I always thought it was bs anyway.

As far as steaks go, unfortunately I'm not knowledgable with steak cuts. I have no idea what to look for beyond marbleing. I know what to order at a steak house but buying it from a grocery store and grilling it at home rarely turns out good...I just don't have the know-how.

I did also buy some steaks from them...I'll thaw some out and grill it up this week.

after this last order, i don't think I'll order any more. Is this Heinz57 someone on the board?

edit** I see that Heinz57 is in Sherman...

Yes, he is, but it's worth the drive. You're not driving to Sherman to pick up 4 steaks. You'd go to pick up an entire loin, or primal ribeye ( can make 8-12 steaks depending on the thickness you cut them to. Or a couple of each. My last haul was for three primal ribeyes, which turned in to 24 steaks by the time I aged, trimmed, and cut them down.

There are several threads in the food forum regarding steaks, and how to cook properly. I'd suggest reading up. This shit isn't hard, at all.

Also, it's at the south city limits and right on 75, so it's not really difficult to hit and turn right back around.

"Would you like to buy some meat?"

"Are you sure, its good meat"
"No, I don't buy meat out of the back of a truck"

I never understand this and I wish these door to door/mass sales people would realize it. Never interrupt someone when they are under a car, doing work in the garage or otherwise doing DIY stuff. Quickest way to piss me off, is to ask again after I say no and go back to my task at hand.

It's almost as bad as an interruption while humping the wife.

Wait, who is Heinz? I'm in Van Alstyne, so it's a hop skip for me up there to Sherman.

I got really confused in this thread just now and can't figure out the change.

I think he spells it Hines57. He's always posting up meat they have on sale in the Food forum, and takes them down when they sell. Yesterday was 39 lbs of Hamburger for $75. I bought three ribeye primals a while back for. $30/ea, and each weighed 12-13 lbs. I've seen them posted much cheaper from time to time though. He works for a distributor up there. He can get you anything you want, but he only posts up the sale deals.

Man, thanks for the clarification. I'll keep an eye out on them then. 39lbs of hamburger for 75...wow.

The posts from yesterday are still up in there if you want to go take a look. He's got that ground beef (93/7) and two loins.

I'll vouch for the guy. I've bought a couple of times from him, and the quality was great. I've only bought choice cuts from him thus far, BUT... What you'll get from him has not been pumped full of water to increase mass, like what you get at the grocery store, plus, I much prefer buying primals so I can age it right to the edge of the limit, and trim and cut them myself. It's a hike for me, but I make my trips worthwhile by buying a lot when I do go.

I bough some before. Mediocre at best. You can definately buy better cuts at any grocery store.

Right now all my deep freeze/freezer space is taken by family members living here until they move (end of month). I'm going to keep an eye on his posts, love to get in on just the hamburger alone.
