Its not depth, its other crap. There are a ton of hazards and vis is nil. I'd be interested In knowing more but recovery isnt guaranteed. What kinda items are they looking to get?

I just got done diving Lake Worth, I'm going on vacation to dive Cozumel in a week, and I don't have the time or a boat to use as a dive platform at the moment.

Cars, trucks, boats, trailers, guns, christmas trees and other artificial habitats for fishing, LOTS of sunglasses, and lots and lots of trash.

I'm not sure that means what y'all think it means. I'm not knocking the guy, and I'm sure he's a good diver, but anyone can get that cert and very easily. It's the first cert. past Basic Open Water and only requires 6 dives to complete it. There are separate courses/certs for salvage or recovery. That task is complicated greatly in zero vis conditions.

A few lift bags. Take them down, fill with air, the boat "floats" again. Again, not an easy/safe task in zero vis.

Was it the link I posted earlier? Firefight Recovery?

Yep, the hazards and fact that everything that was in the boat drifted off as it sank are the biggest obstacles. I would assume they're just wanting to see if someone could locate belongings. Lifting a boat is pretty pricy, I believe.

It was a speed boat and someone hit them while they were hiding under the bridge to ride out the storm. I also think they had some heavy waves and they just came over the side.

I know they have all their personal shit stored in the boat. I bet they'd like to recover the boat seeing as this was the first time on the water since buying it

All I'm getting at is that chris has experience in depths ranging 60-100 ft. If I'm correct the advanced course requires the deeper dives to get certified. My dives in two weeks will be a max of 30 ft or at least that's what I was told.

Clear Spring is shallow, unless you enter the silo. The silo goes down to 60 feet. Technically you need to be certified to go beyond 63 feet, but there are no scuba police to stop you. The biggest risk is nitrogen narcosis.

It would take more than a typical scuba diver to dive down in zero vis and rummage around for belongings that probably floated off anyways. Seems like the boat itself is the only thing that would be worth any money so I don't see the point. Doubt the boat is worth much either.

Ironically , today I'm filming a deposition in a case where a cigarette boat barrell rolled at lake ray Hubbard in 09 during a poker run. . He was going 100+ mph.

Was there a fatality in that wreck?

It was an older '98-99 model so I doubt it's worth much.
