PLANO — A 70-year-old Plano woman is hospitalized after being mauled by her own dog on Saturday night.
One of Margaret Brothers' three bulldogs attacked her at her home in the 2000 block of Cumberland Trail.
Sherry Foster, who lives with Brothers, found the bloodied victim and called 911.
"She's a real trooper. She came all the way out here and she managed to lock the dogs up so they wouldn't get me while the ambulance was on the way," Foster said.
Brothers has already undergone three surgeries, and the victim's daughter told Foster that a plastic surgeon is being called in.
The dog that attacked was shot by officers after they worked for an hour trying to get it out of the house. The other two dogs were removed by animal control.
