I have neighbors that have 6+ Datsun dogs running around their backyard yipping and barking constantly. I could call the HOA and complain but then they could have done the same with me when I had the gang over last week and a cannon in my backyard. Instead we are good friends and they get embarrassed now when the dogs bark while we are outside.

Should've put the "pump gas tune" on those Datsun's instead of the "race gas tune". Then maybe they wouldn't be so rowdy !

No but I did one with the judge only, and I ended up right at $1000 lighter in the bank account. And like you, the vehicle (my 1971 Mustang) was moved, and a privacy fence was put up between the side of the yard and the side street (our house is on a corner), The car could be still be seen from the neighbors back yard, the pictures that the fuckstick used were taken from the neighbors back yard at my rear fence, not from the road as per the ordnance, the car could not be seen from any street. The judge didn't give a fuck when I pointed that out.

....same thing happened to me....and i live in the country. paid the ticket, guy still comes by all the time looking at my cars.....whats makes me mad is there is a shop down the my street that has had a car in its front parking area on jackstands with no motor or trans in it for like a year and they never get hassled.....another person just a bit further has had a ford probe on jackstands for over 3 years now and it has never been moved.....

That seems to be common, my dad was recieving notices for a truck in front of his detached garage on two acres because the stickers were not up to date. Meanwhile there were dissasembled cars a few houses down that have been there for years. In a more highly populated suburban neighborhood, I recently recieved warnings on several different occasions. The second time it happened our entire street was lit up with those bright orange stickers on winshields and doors all the way up the street. I recieved warnings for "tire on curb, inspection sticker out of date/ abandoned vehicle", and parking on the section of my driveway that has a sidewalk going through it. I'm very ready to move back to a rural area with a fence preventing people/officers from walking onto my property to critique my parking. Others up my street that I talked to got tagged for grass too high, landscaping supplies in yard, parking within 15ft of a hydrant/mailbox, multiple other "parking" ordinances. The not parking on the sidewalk portion of the driveway is the most annoying thing, it makes it more difficult when we have company. Good luck with yours, and hope whatever bitchy neighbor started it doesnt continue.

That IS one way of handling it. Always a trial by jury. Make the city fight you and go through the expense and time of juries for anything you want to fight. It's your right, use it.

That said, damn I'm glad I live in the country. My Mustang sat on blocks for years while I tinkered.

Picture a bunch of people that are missing work. In that group, you will have some retired people. When you go to select your jury and they find out they're missing work cause your fighting a ticket for a junk car, how sympathetic do you think they will be ? You only need 1 on your side, so maybe you get lucky and find a motor head in the group.
If you are really gonna fight it, do your research. The judge can't/won't help you and the prosecutor does this shit for a living. He'll make you look like a fool pretty easy.
Now, if you're still looking to fight it, you might wanna actually read the ordinance you were cited for and make a decision as to whether you think you really did violate the ordinance ? I am wiling to bet the citation is proper. Your hope is a sympathetic juror.. Oh and if you do go to a jury trial, you're better off allowing the judge to set the fine if you lose. Juries can get pretty heavy on fines if they think you wasted their time. Judges usually hit the median..

My last property was 3acres on a FM road with a pipe fence and gate. It was nice to see the few times that the county needed to get a hold of me that they never ventured further than that front gate.

Thinking back, I am 100% sure I should have went with a jury trial. You are pretty much guaranteed to get the max fine from the judge.

Ten years ago. A hot water heater, 2 barking dog tickets and the car tickets all from the code enforcement folks in Hurst cost me $3,000 after warrant fees etc.; 10% of my income that year. Yes they went to warrant cause the only thing I paid them was no attention. I guess I felt their power in the end. But damn did it hurt badly. Stupid thing is, the neighbor who was causing me so much grieve ran me off to leave the house for my brother. he regretted that decision for sure.

Go watch some trials too. Find out when they have court and go watch and take notes. They don't have too many jury trials , so it may be hard to catch one of those, but at least watch some

This is the exact reason I will never own a house without an Alley. My dad used to get his tires chalked on his Road Runner that sat in front of his house. The paint was bad and it sat under a large tree with leaves all over it. Apparently some fucken neighbors didn't think the car looked nice and called the cops often to have it towed. After he'd get a warning notice monthly, he'd fire it up and drive it around the block. We tried to cover it up but some fucken asshole stole his CA car cover in a week (didn't have lock).

I find it rediculous that fucken people have so much time on their hands to worry about shit like that. I'm not currently working and I don't go around looking at people's yards and cars registrations.

I also had some dip shit leave a note on my Vette asking if I wanted to sell it because my inspection was out and he thought it never moved because I always park it in the same spot. I texted him and appoligized for having too many cars and not being able to drive it every gd day.
