No need to be a bitch. And I'm pretty sure it's 'taxonomy', so fuck you, look it up first next time.

Also, no one on this site uses proper grammar or spelling, so fuck you again.

Next time you feel the need to dish out shit about which you know little to nothing, expect someone to line you out. Been here much?

When did they start teaching common sense in public schools?

They didn't. Common sense isn't in the TEKS. Higher order thinking skills, however, are. It's not quantifiable.

Common sense isn't quantifiable, I mean.

Passing the TEKS demonstrates higher order thinking skills and common sense? Good Lord. Teaching kids spatial orientation of objects and making them write a one-page essay does not make them useful citizens, no matter what you think.

Maybe you should start teaching them about credit scores, how to write a resume, or how to interview. With your bad attitude and lackluster mastery of the English language, I'm sure you couldn't manage it.

Aren't you one of Lea's friends?

Again you have no idea what goes on in a classroom if you think learning about one aspect of something then writing a paper on it is how kids are taught. That's not how it's done anymore. Try again. You are welcome to visit my class any day. I'll be happy to prove you wrong in person. If you'd like to see certain skills taught, feel free to contact the State Board of Education, or better yet try to get appointed.

You don't know anything about my attitude & one badly spelled word = lackluster mastery? You know more than my university did about my mastery of the English language? Interesting. I should have earned something other than A's in the 28 hours of English I took based on your opinion. Yet I mastered the skills enough to graduate with a 3.962 out of 4.0. Do tell how you have been judged on your English skills. I'm dying to know...

And what does Lea have to do with anything. I'm friends with a number of the folks on here.

Also, fuck you (just because I can)!

lol @ higher order thinking skills being taught in schools. I'm not so far removed from high school that I don't remember exactly how it was, and teaching critical thinking was a term that was thrown around a bunch, but rarely executed. Your throwing out of Bloom's Taxonomy (come on, they raved about that shit to us from the time I was in 4th grade until I graduated) as your example is further proof of that. Critical thought would have come up with actual examples of the teaching methods and process used to encourage critical thinking; instead, you threw out the most generic, overabused buzz-term used to "educate" people my age.

This is the scariest part. There aren't physically enough upper-class to sway a vote, and the middle-class is being superceded by the rabbit breeding lower-class. It's no longer about what is best for the country, it's about pandering to the have-nots simply because they can vote.
