Airbags= totaled to most ins companies. They will look at it as a decent running car that they can total and sell at auction for a profit. Don’t let them take it or just keep the damn thing. A k-member will cost you a couple hundred and then just delete the airbags and replace the insert with an aftermarket one. Probably spend $500 to get your car back up and running...unless you want a new car payment..

Airbags are about $600 a pop brand new so depending on the milege and options of your car plus year, you can easily get to the 75% rate...Airbags are usually a deciding factor

im just assuming that is a cobra, and 03-04, so worth ~12500 with some miles. The K would most likely be written recycled, making insurance cost under $400. Bags are 697 and 717, and the controler is 171. So for under $2k in parts, add in labor, you are nowhere near 75%.

Your a moron. They don't total just cause of airbags being blown. 90 percent of the cars we fix at my shop blow the airbags and they all get fixed without totaling. I doubt his cobra will total.

Buy a k-member and airbags off ebay. Not worth a collision claim on your insurance + the possibility they might want to total it (small chance though).
