      That sucks.

I have not been personally, but my family has been. I want to say about 20 years ago my mom and dad went out to a nice dinner with a few friends. When they were heading back to their car these two guys jumped out and held them at gun point. Dads friend got pistol whipped and everyone else was stripped of anything of value.

If they have a gun in your face, do what they say and hopefully nothing happens. Hopefully it wont happen to anyone I know or myself, but if it does the best thing you can do is make it thru the situation alive, however you have to do it.

Hard situation. No gun do exactly what they say. Gun do what they say, unless you have a chance to draw and fire. Even then I'd rather just give them the couple bucks I carry. I don't carry any cc but one and my dl. Never above 20 in cash, and its not because I'm paranoid it is because I hate cash. I pay my cc off every month.

The only thing you can really do is cough up the money if they've drawn on you. If the person starts moving you to a secluded area, you might want to make sure that you're mentally prepared to eat some lead, because there's a strong chance that there is about to be a gunfight: as soon as you can get even a half-second opportunity you need to draw and squeeze at whatever piece of flesh the bad guy is showing.

I am a firm believer in maintaining solid situational awareness at all times. I mean, if someone gets the drop on you it's almost always going to be a lack of you paying attention. If I'm somewhere I am not familiar I don't walk and text or fumble for my keys or stare at my shoes as I shuffle along: I always scan and always glance back. My girlfriend always walks on my right side. I never have anything in my left hand I don't mind dropping on the pavement. My girlfriend knows if I have to get a handful of my CCW that she needs to let go of my arm and get behind me. It's little stuff like that that hopefully you do out of force of habit but never have to rely on.

Do what they say, keep your voice level and don't provoke them. If you can get out of it without losing your life, then consider it a win. If they already have a weapon and it's pointed at you, your reaction time 99/100 will not beat their trigger finger

100% solid information. Most victims are victims because they weren't paying attention and they radiate victim. If you walk like you are the baddest man on the planet and keep aware of your surroundings, you MAY wind up in a bad situation, but odds are you saw it coming and are as prepared as you can be. Also, if you cannot get a hold of your CCW or do not have it with you, do what you can. Fingers in the eyes, punch in the adam's apple, pen in the temple.

The problem tends to be that people aren't willing to get violent enough fast enough
