cool swap especially on older and less expensive, "under" powered cars

^^I like where this is going.

I too loved those early 930 turbo cars when I was a youngster, well before any mustang.

        Here's your candidate.

But having driven a very clearly underpowered '76 911S on a multitude of occasions, I don't get the need for more power. It's not a popular opinion on here, but I still maintain that driving a slow (and incredibly rewarding) car quickly is way more entertaining than driving a fast car at moderate speeds.

Also, see: lift-throttle oversteer. Adding that much power to just about any pre-993/996 911 would, at some point, kill 90% of the members on here. Trip McNeely would shred his carcass in one.

              I've posted it before - http://renegadehybrids.com/

..and I'm in NO WAY above what these guys are doing...I got to visit their shop last year while out in Vegas for SEMA, and I'll tell you...they have quite a class operartion out there. Of course they do a lot more 924/944/928 conversions, but still have several really nice 911 conversions under their belt too. For the money....if my car were ever to shit the bed, I'd seriously consider this route instead of replacing the 3.6. Don't get me wrong, the 3.6 runs great, but a good used one goes for $10K-$12K...While the full 996 conversion kit from Renegade is just under $7K...of course that's just the kit, not including engine, but we all know how far your dollars will go for a good used LSX. Essentially for the same $10k-$12K you could end up weighing in the same or maybe even a little less with an additional 100-150hp NA HP on tap....along with a mean exhaust note, and something that isn't seen on every corner.

..and I'm sorry, but if this doesn't do anything for you, then you must have a vagina! (excuse the hicks in 1st vid ) -

That LS1 has got to fuck up the weight distribution/handling.

Seriously? i thought those flat 6's were pretty lightweight. Either way I'm sure the weight isn't anywhere near as low.

I know there are much faster ones, but the '70s Carrera RSs always made my pants tight.
