Goof on the seller's behalf, they've all been six speeds since the 993 series.

If I was made of money, I might buy one, but I think there are much cooler cars for the price.

I can appreciate the sound, just not coming from a vehicle with that price tag. I'd always think I paid too much for my volkswagen.

I pass them (Porsche's) all day long on the track, for half the money, and have twice the sound......nothing sounds like a mustang.

However....they are well sorted and very mature in their chassis development.

I said the same as you when I had my evo... But since I'm not racing for money... I'd rather end the day in the cars I have than some of the cars that passed me that day at the track.

Good thing that cars aren't solely judged by their track prowess

I really don’t get it either…unless it’s just someone who is stuck only on the sound of a V8?? How could you not appreciate the exhaust note in what I posted (#10) above? But then again…I can’t say that I’ve come across a whole lot of people who have a real legit beef with it either, so I dunno….

Tell your old man I'll come and take him for a highway ride sometime....I'll bet his tune changes on that maybe a little (he might need to change his drawers too). ….but seriously, they are VW’s…that joke is older than…well….VW’s!

Yes. I’ve seen that seller before….and they list a lot of questionable stuff. Although they have a really nice looking 996 Twin Turbo listed right now.

I think that’s a common misconception…..you have to be made of money to own a ~$30K car?? unless of course you are planning on buying one brand new...then I get what you are saying, but they really aren't that bad used...and they've got a much better return than just about any other car I've owned.

                    "This" to all of this.

I'd like to pick up a 993 or Cayman S here in the next year or so, although the prices on 993s keep climbing closer to giraffe pussy high every day.

Indeed sir...993's are pretty much the peak of 911's in the eyes of all Porsche lovers (myself included). But then again, that's what makes them a good investment....just get in one before they get too far up there. I'm not much of a fan of the Cabrio's myself, but the 993 era of those tend to be real reasonable if you have any interest in one.

I'd still like to pickup a 964 to play around with myself....I've been tempted to go and talk to the guys at Dallas Car Store about a trade-in on this old RUF.....

Thank you for visiting Dallas Car Store of Dallas, TX. Quality used cars and trucks. Check out our inventory and contact us if you have any questions.

For whatever reason I really don't care for 993 cabrios more than I oppose 964 cabs. Regardless, I'll probably err on the cheaper side and snag a Cayman S. I'd feel better about leaving it in my parking garage (albeit it completely enclosed and well protected) than a 993 anyway, at this point.

I agree with him. Mustangs sound fairly unique. Now if he was trying to say nothing sounds AS GOOD as a Mustang, I'd venture to observe he has never heard a European sports car in his entire life. I know I rather enjoyed the music of my luxobarge 7 series 4.4 liter DOHC v8 roaring as I drifted it around corners.

I'd give him the benefit of a doubt. Some of us just love Mustangs and are oblivious to all others..

An old 5.0 with a B cam, H-pipe and 2 chambers will always hold a special place in my heart without a doubt. But there are plenty of badass sounding cars out there. These days now more than ever. I've been saying it for awhile now, but it is truly a golden time to be a car guy.
