But as suggested, I'd be willing to bet that the increase in COG height would offset any weight savings, especially given the natural pendulum-ing rear end tendencies to begin with.

LSx is lighter than the flat 6 with a turbo on the older ones. Not sure on the newer ones. The cg does go up for sure.
Don't forget you also, in an aircooled replacement scenario have to install and plumb a radiator up front, which will help balance the car a bit...
All in all while I prefer the flat 6, I can definitely understand the appeal and won't fault someone for doing the swap if their motor shits itself and they've got a driver car.

hate to bring this one back up but rule of thumb any aircooled P-car for under $20k is a good deal..
found this one randomly and figured i'd post it up if anyone is really looking for one of these. http://www.lemonfree.com/car/Porsche...ign=criteofree
thats a lot of car for $15,000 esp. with "20k" miles one it
I WILL own a 993 some day, that was my dads dream car and I will get one to remember him by.THE BAD HOMBRE

I love Porsche 911's, I love the shit out of them. I had a little experience with a 1978 Targa SC 911 and I'll never do that again. Holy SHIT they are expensive on parts, breathtaking expensive. The only thing that so far has pissed me off on pricing was the spark plugs wires. They were 600. But as far as body parts and wheels go. Not sure what you're talking about as I never had it for sale. I traded it in on my 06 Explorer. I thought it was a pretty awesome car!
