Not only that, but this bastion of intelligence seems to think that all the shitheads in society will all of a sudden stop being shitheads after a "grueling" boot camp.

That will TOTALLY fix the dirty cop problem we have here in the states. And every cop involved with situations like the OP should be sent to jail for falsifying documents and trying to cover it up. Hold them just as accountable as the asshat that pulled the trigger.

I don't have any; just trying to think out of the box.

We currently have a system that doesn't work. First and foremost the government has forgotten that they need our consent to rule us and that was lost many years ago. The second biggest problem is the government passing laws dealing with issues that are none of their damn business. 3rd is a toss up, government schools that don't teach, a police force that MANY members of said force view the citizenry with complete contempt, a welfare state/system designed to completely destroy the family and to cause endless generations of poverty class dependents etc...

So your answer to a government having too much power is to hand them more people?

And this is why I hate police officers, always trying to justify everything they do with whatever makes the culprit sound worse. It is the reason they try to get you to self incriminate. This guy should get 45 years in prison.

Like my dad taught me " The police will always twist the arm of the victim to get them to shut up". In this case he was a sex offender so it was ok that our police force used deadly force on an unarmed man and murdered him in cold blood.

No. I am saying that the power should be spread widely amongst all people; not just the ones that desire power over others and who seek out positions that give them that power. You overlooked that this would effectively become a term limit for all but the most exemplary officers.

And you overlook the fact that it would take the worst in society, hand them a badge, gun and power and let them do whatever they want for that period of time. Hell no. Military service? Fine. A badge and gun? Hell no
