Long story kind of short.......not really......
Decided to post my 98 Z28 as a roller with all the extra parts I have on some boards. Got all kinds of interest surprisingly, but mostly just tire kickers and low ballers. Shocking I know.....
I got 2 serious inquiries last week. One guy came in from OKC, looked, liked it, but his wife said no. Shocking again.
While this guy was in line first, another gentleman from Louisiana wanted in on the deal. I told him to be fair the other guy had first shot at it. AS soon as the deal was a no go, I notified Mr. Louisiana he was next up for the deal.
This guy told me he works out in the Gulf on an oil rig and can't come get the car for 2 weeks, but he's considering the deal a done deal and it's sold to him. I said fine, send me a deposit and let's move on. This was last Wednesday........
For the past 3 days he's been saying he can't get Paypal to verify his account and all kinds of other things preventing the deposit payment. All while trying to get me to agree to taking the deposit via Moneygram. I sent a little bill of sale to him including all the parts in the deal as well as the roller, he agreed to it. I told him I will only accept Paypal since it protects us both.
I have had to turn away at least 10 offers and more than 20 interested people on this car and parts since this guy supposedly had a deposit and the deal locked up.
He has in all fairness been very good communicating with me. I am in no rush to sell, but I don't want to miss out on a deal cause this guy is dragging his feet.
Do I give him a solid deadline to come up with the $$? Do I tell him cash talks and he's losing the race? I know he has his work circumstances and all, so I am trying to be considerate.
What does DFWMUSTANGS say?
