lol, you guys love to crush dreams, huh? I didn't ask what you thought about the program or even your opinion on the program OR the field, just the best way to go about getting a student loan.

Go through the school, the financial aid and dental department can help and lead you toward any scholarships. She will not be able to work so don't pressure her to.

Wife is a pharmacist and the loan is pretty much a second mortgage.

I understand it's cool to be a smartass and it makes some of you guys feel good about yourselves but this site should focus on helping each other, it seems since 2004 the old site and this site has a steady downhill attitude.

Lol... Been there, done that! It just depends how committed you both are to following through all the way! There are sacrifices to be made for quite a while.

You expect entirely too much from this website.

Oh man, people like you make this site what it is, and isn't. I'm sure your line of work is much more reputable.

And brother you ain’t got the game to pull my embarrassing one night stands.

She can get a part time job to make $1,500 a month and not have any debt when she finishes. That IS the smartest route.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

She has already filled out all the paper work for fafsa and financial aid, we're just checking all avenues of approach.

As others said, stick with Federal. She should be able to take out more than the cost of school if needed.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Dental Hygiene is a good field, and difficult to get into. So congrats on that.

But pulling "at least $1,500 a month" for the 2 years is pretty crazy...she CAN work. Lets get that straight...she CAN work. Maybe it'll be a little too much effort in her perspective now to do both, but don't tell yourself it's impossible. I mean even working 10-20 hours a week will help you to not get stuck with $36,000 in student loans for a 2 year degree. If you still can't stand it, I agree with going federal. I think Sallie Mae does a lot of different types of loans as well.
