What to do in Corpus Christi?

I just drove in from down there today.
I'd go across the causeway over to the north padre island beach. Been going to those and Port A all my life. Just took the gf down there for her first time ever and took her to both beaches and she preferred N Padre island as well. the two places are about 20 min apart. Port A is much more of a tourist destination, with N Padre being more of a retirement or vacation home type place.
It's a smaller community and still has some nice places for food such as Scuttlebutt's and the aforementioned Doc's and Snoopy's. Some good places for drinks on the island as well. Right across over on Flour Bluff there is a newer HEB Plus and a new Walmart. Makes for easy and good shopping compared to the solo and pricey IGA grocery store of Port A.

Go to the executive surf club downtown for a burger, and order the battered fries with a side of walnut dressing. You can hank me later.
If you like live rock/metal check out Rock House, my buddy owns it.
Want some good Cajun food and beer, go to Crawdaddies downtown.
Señor Jaime is a white dude named James, he used to own his own painting company, and was the guy who used to paint all of the condos and buildings my dad built. Food is good, but not great.
Best Mexican food is at Old Mexico on leopard st. It's on the shady side of town, but worth it.
For breakfast tacos go to the little stand on the corner of Gollihar and Airline, best ever.
Good pizza? Try Panjos on airline, or B and Js on SPiD.Last edited by Silverback; 06-30-2012, 09:50 AM.

I drove SPID to work from crosstown to staples for nearly 5 years. I can safely say that I saw traffic back up at least 2 times a week somewhere along the way. The crosstown exit was always a source of a good wreck at least once a week! People will fly up in the left lanes and then try to whip over to the crosstown exit at the last possible second.
