As for rent....WHY would you want to move there? The area is about 10-15 years behind on the pay scale. We lived in Portland and you can get a decent place 3/2/2 for $850-$1000. You could not pay me enough actually live in Corpus. Northern Mexico, drivers suck and traffic is a nightmare anywhere that is decent enough to live.
I had tilapia tacos, they were great!

The lady got into the Dental Hygiene program at Del Mar. That's why, or we wouldn't even consider moving here.

The Battleship is in Houston. Aircraft Carrier Lexington is in Corpus and it is cool. Touch the Rays in the Texas State Aquarium. Ride the ferry.

        my 2 cents.

Nice picture! We're going to Port Aransas tomorrow.

Cool. You might want to look into Portland. We looked all over corpus and just felt better about Portland. We liked the small town attitude. Never had to worry about traffic or random people hanging out in store parking lots.
Anyway if need anything else let me know.

I'm assuming you don't have kids. If you did, I would STRONGLY suggest the Pirate Tour. It's cheap and well worth it. Just a short little tour on a big boat. While in the middle of the tour the crew stages a pirate take over. (Smaller boat comes up and tries to board the ship.) The crew gives all the kids water guns to "shoot" at the pirates. A few fall in the water and then eventually they run off after the Captain fires a small cannon. Once they're gone they drop a test net and pull in an assorted lot of fish, crabs, etc. Good times for the kids!

Damn, I almost forgot about the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria...

My dad was on the board to help get the Columbus ships in Corpus. I think the Pinta is all that's left now.

The CC Museum of natural history is great. They have a scale model of a refinery and alot of history from that area including a couple of small movies of the few hurricanes that have devistated the Texas coast. Its an al day affair and worth the price of admission to see everything in the A/C. Takes all day so get there early because they close at 5:00pm.

We're looking at renting a house in Port Aransas. The only place so far that is habitable.

Spent a week at Mustang Island not too long ago. The beaches are nasty. The only real highlight was burger and a beer at Barnacle Bill's
