I have all of my pre reqs, but got a job in the medical software field making as much as nurses around here.
    Where do you work?

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Unfortunately theres no quick and easy path to a good paying jobs. Even people with 4 year degrees have to slave it out in their chosen field before they land a decent job.... Even then I'd shoot for more than 50-60k... best of luck!

LOL... no you won't. It's going to take years before you can do that, but regardless, congrats to her and eventually you.

Well, when the going rate for entry level nursing in this area starts at $19....
I made more than that in retail management.

Not always true. The engineering field doesn't usually follow that path. I landed a great job the day before I received my diploma while another company that I was interning with for pay was trying to keep me. In the 2 years since I have graduated I was offered another job much higher pay and my company fought it and gave me a better offer to keep me. Most of the friends I graduated with had very similar success landing a good job very quickly after graduation if not before.

So you mean Certified Public Accountant CPA???
                  This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

About 5 or so years ago I asked my wife why she was in a dead end job and asked her what her dream job was. She said she had always wanted to be an athletic trainer. I let her go part time and she finished her criminal justice degree and took some of the other core courses. She got accepted into UTA'a athletic training program four years ago and graduated in may of this year. She got a job two weeks ago and told me it was awsome because she will never WORK another day in her life. It makes a huge difference in your quality of life to do what you really want to do. Hell ten years ago I got my dream job after working in retail and sales 13 or so years. Now I am even re evaluating my career path and may go back to school to do something else. Work to live, not live to work. Hell four years over a period of a lifetime is not really that long.
                  Whos your Daddy?

Nursing with no experience starts on the low end at $22.50-23/hr. Some of the better paying hospital chains will pay $25/hr no experience. I just passed my 1 year and got a $4/hr raise, but luckily I was an ER tech for 3 years while I did nursing and it counts as 1.5 of nursing experience.

If you want to go to nursing school...do it

That sucks. That's low. Hell I thought my company paid low. Well they do for the Dfw metroplex, but that is way low.
