  • Anybody work at a machine shop?

I am looking for a machine shop to do some simple tasks to my bellhousing. Does anybody work at a machine shop near Cedar Hill?

Is that place still around? Also what do you need done? I work in that area and have access to a large mill and lathe.

I need 1 hole drilled and tapped in a steel scattershield and then another clearance hole just drilled. All I have is a hand drill and I don't trust its or my accuracy.

The adapter plate can serve as a guide. It will be really quick and easy with the right tools.

I figured they were gone. Last I heard the owner was in jail for tax evasion? They built my motor a few years back. I will see if they are open tomorrow.

It would not surprise me if it was Kevin that still owned it as he was a character to say the least.

Sounds like all you really need is access to a drill press.

Yep. You got a fairly good sized one that has a base large enough for a 40 lb bellhousing?

Southwest is closed and has been closed for over 2yrs, my dad worked there and they went under from overhead costs, combined with a small amount of work coming through the doors... i believe the jail story is false,

The car is not fast enough to get heavily scrutinized by any techs if those even exist anymore at the local tracks. Most of them only check to make sure you have a number on your car. I rarely go to the track anymore anyway. When I do it is for a test/tune event or maybe a bracket race.

Drill two holes in the scattershield still makes it safe than a stock aluminum T5 BH.

I know a machine shop that is very capable and very cheap. I use them quite a bit for prototype parts. Robby also has a drill press but it's nothin too fancy. Uses it mostly for motorcycle stuff.

I think I got the hook up at one very close to the house. I will know tonight if it's a go or not.
