A picky NHRA tech will fail you if the see any done to the scattershield. I dont know that I've ever seen one look, but I remember a discussion on this very topic.sigpic18 F150 Supercrew - daily

Drill two holes in the scattershield still makes it safe than a stock aluminum T5 BH.
