  • Where to buy wood for smoker

    Looking for a good place to buy seasoned wood and high quality lump charcoal for my smoker. Preferably not too far from Plano.
    Atlantic Blue '00 - '03 Cobra motor and TKO600, solid axle, full MM suspension
    Silver '01 Vette - D1 blown LS

      Home Depot at 15th street carries mesquite and hickory.

              academy has hickory, mesquite and pecan wood in (i think) 20 pound bags.

                  That's where I usually buy mine. It's about $10 per bag. I mainly use pecan and hickory.

                    I don't like using chunks, myself. They burn too fast, even if you soak them in water.

                    You can buy logs at a place in Irving on the NW corner of Rock Island and Beltline. They have pecan, mesquite, hickory, apple, cherry, etc. Mesquite and Hickory are like $10-15 per bag, and it all goes up from there.

                      Several guys, along 78 selling wood, all kinds, Pinon, Drift, Oak, Cedar, Semi-Hard Wood too.....

                        Just to clarify, I assumed the OP mean logs. It's for a smoker, who uses chips in a full smoker?

                        Anyway, HD sells split logs in bags in mesquite and hickory.

                              Sam's Club has raw lump charcoal, 40 lb bag for 15.00. That is a good deal. Academy for the wood .
