I thought it was neat of them to try. It sucks that the privacy laws are preventing them from finding the owner.
Couple searching for owner of 50-year-old wedding ring
A California couple has a mystery on their hands.
They are searching for the owner of a 50-year-old wedding ring they found in their used-car.
The ring has the date 1961 written inside.
Shannon Callahan found the ring while hunting for her husband's cell phone.
All she knows is the car had one previous owner, was registered in Texas, and was in an accident.
She isn't sure if the owner is still around, but hopes someone from the family will come forward.
"I know my wedding ring means everything to me, and so that's what marriage is all about," says Callahan, "And I'm sure whoever owns this ring would like to have it back."
The Callahans say they are trying to go through the Texas DMV, but privacy laws are keeping them from getting any names.
