There is a really cool hotel that we stayed in while we were there. It had an outdoor firepit with lots of comfy chairs and a really cool bar. I will ask Craig what the name of it was.

Well, just so I don't miss the thread later...

I stay up the street in Seal Beach in a beach house but we've stayed on occasion at the Hilton and the Hyatt down in HB. About $200 a night. Both are walking distance to the beach... like across the street.

Take some time and go to Seal Beach. Main Street is loaded with pubs. If you do go to SB stop at Beachwood BBQ on Main. Damn good ribs, sweet potato fries and creamed corn and a great selection of microbrews on draft and in bottle.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

              1107 Jamboree Road
              Newport Beach, CA 92660
              (949) 729-1234

It is a little older but a very cool place and right down the road from Huntington Beach.

We stayed at the Shorebreak for a couple days last summer and really liked it. It's on the PCH and within walking distance of everything.

Like Eric mentioned, take the 15 min drive up to Seal Beach and walk down Main St. You can hit several good pubs and it will dead end into the pier.

If you go up Katella a few miles to Anaheim there are a plethora of hotels of all different price ranges but, you will be close to Disneyland..

I stayed at the Marriott for a few days on a business trip back in September. Pretty nice hotel, but I couldn't tell you what the rate was, my company footed the bill. Huntington Beach is a pretty posh place in general from what I gathered.
