  • Dallas wants more money

I always wondered why there are red light cameras at just about every light down Lake June or any road in the "hood" but when i go to the better side of town, there isn't one to be seen. I guess the city thinks that's since it is "the hood" people here will break the law more often and run a red light thus generating tons of revenue. What they failed to realise is that, when these people receive their fine in the mail, they could give two shit about a red light they don't remember running and do you think they care about it turning into warrant, hell no! Its the hood man, going to jail to sit out a ticket is common round here. If the city really wants more money, they need to put those cameras out in highland park or better parts of town where the people are scared of going to jail and don't break the law as often and will probably pay their fines as soon as they come in or forget to pay in time and get fined more therefore generating more revenue like they city want so bad.
Idk why i even posted this, ivy been up for 45 hrs... I need some sleep. Idk wtf im talking about

So was that article saying that if a judge only cares about justice, they will just replace him with someone who is more interested in generating revenue than actually being a judge?

I have a red light ticket in Arlington from over a year ago that hasn't turned into a warrant. Unless they can actually make good on the threat to interfere with my registration, I'm not paying it. I'm prepared to go the long run and find out. Should know for certain in another 2 or 3 months when I have to get it renewed.

I think I've had two I didn't pay, nothing ever happened. My wife though had one recently which they did threaten her registration.

So I think only current tickets get that threat.

Maybe it was just the website where you go to pay that threatens a ticket going into warrant status. I didn't care to find out.

I'll try to remember to update the thread where I originally got it when I find out. Kind of interested to see what happens. I'm going to laugh if I don't have any problems. The last note they sent said I wouldn't be able to register it; it was no longer just a threat. If that happens, I'll pay it, but I'm not going to make it easy on them. This isn't the UK.

i've been fucked by red lights cameras before, they won't turn into warrants not in dallas anyway, my traffic lawyer said those tickets are civil not criminal. the only thing th'll do is fuck you when you go renew ur tags.

anyway they won't let you set out traffic warrants anymore,

Private companies will print all kinds of bullshit up to scare you into paying their tickets.

These are not criminal violations. Compliance with the civil penalty is voluntary to the extent that you are willing to risk denial of vehicle registration. They can't even report these to credit agencies.

Can they actually deny the registration of the vehicle though? And what would happen if I sold it?

Yes they could, if you sold it then I don't think they could do anything.
