However, if your twisty road or course has any elevation changes, you are fucked. The anemic powerplant will usually have you dropping a gear to get up the hill. (i drove these same roads in my stock 98 GT which also had 200rwhp and i could always hang in 3rd or 4th and accelerate up a hill). Now dont get me wrong, this car was fun to shift but its like having a manual transmission on. 4cyl car. Theres too much shifting.

I was tired and I didn't word it right. I hated how often you had to shift.

What I had in my mind was a memory of when I drove a buddy's Ford Ranger 4cyl with a manual transmission. I could barely go 30 feet forward before I had to shift out of first because the RPM's just climbed so fast without any real benefit to the cars movement.

Basically the power curve sucks balls.

You'll understand the hype when they put a 2JZ in it...lol. Or when they turbo the boxer. This is a Segway for something big i think. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 4cyl mustang again too...

Because you're caught up in numbers. How often when driving your car do you need or want it to be as fast as possible? A "fast" car is only useful in that capacity when you're using all of that speed. A really enjoyable, tossable car is enjoyable to drive even when you're dicking around running errands.

Instead, as alternatives, you list a car prone to snap oversteer and a car that's naturally going to understeer like a motherfucker.

I drive fast a lot. My SVT Focus is fun and handles good, but the '12 GT in the driveway leaves a grin on your face.

FWD with a quasi-computer-controlled-torque-vectoring-using-brakes-in-lieu-of-limited slip speaks for itself. Will it handle well? Absolutely. Will it still plow like a motherfucker at the limit? Probably.

Same argument I make for Supermoto being soo much more fun and exciting than riding liter bikes around town. Squids are stubborn tho.... moar powa!!!!
