Had this same thing happen with my sister & the guy she is dating. Dude actually threw a drink in my sisters face in front of my mother.

I was in the car the next day & went to Shreveport & the guy actually tried to dodge me by going to the Casino & renting a room. I talked my sister in to talking him to coming back to the house. He came back. First thing I did was told him I wanted to talk to him man to man. Took him to the Back Yard out of sight of my sister & mom & was very polite but firm & said you see this backyard. If there is a next time I have to come down here we are gonna have a date in this backyard & it wont be talking.

But the only reason I stepped in was cause it was in front of my mother. Now had he hit her or threw a drink in her face while they where alone I prolly would have left it alone cause she is a grown adult & I cant be there to save my sister from every Asshole she decides to date. She wants to be with a Asshole. Then so be it. Its her life! But he wont treat her like shit in front of me or my family! Long story short, Rose my sister is still with the guy & the family pretty much ignores her. We love her! But as long as she is with the guy we avoid her

She packed her shit same night and hasn't seen or heard from him since.
That was over 2 years ago.

So, regardless of the child (not an excuse to stay), if she is still with him she allows it and will turn on you if you intervene.
