Definitely talk to her first. 9 times out of 10 she will side with him if/when shit goes down. Hell, about every other episode of Cops, Alaska State Troopers, and the like have a chick that called the cops for domestic violence, and then refuses to press charges or denies that anything happened if someone else called.
