what is the longest period of unemployment yall have been on with 0 income? In exactly 2 months i will be unemplyed due to me going back to school for 5 months, i will have zero cash coming in unless i get a part time, i figured if i saved up about 10k i would have been ok, i was up to 4k when i spent it all, no i figure that as long as i have enough for my truck payment, insurance and atleast 100 dollars a week i should be good. Has anyone ever done anything like this?

In 2003 (.com bust) I lived in Austin and was working for Dell for about 4.5 years. I was "let go" due to not hitting quota for ONE QUARTER along with about 20 others... It was their way of saying, "We've never had a layoff" back in those days.
I was unemployed for 9 months. It really sucked and was very stressful while trying to support a family as well. I cashed in all stocks, 401k and depleted all savings. I also parted out my 89 coupe which sucked considering I just finished an EFI to carb conversion.
I hope I never have to go through something like that again. Best of luck to you in looking for a new job.Comment
