How do you "catch" someone molesting your 4 year old? Shouldn't someone have been watching the child?

I did a big presentation in a Psych class about sexual abuse. A HUGE majority of the offenders are family members or close family friends. More than likely, the father caught someone who was allowed to be near the girl in the act.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I don't know how any prosecutor, in good conscience, could charge the father, but stranger things have happened.

I'd bet he does end up being charged, but a jury would not convict. The problem is, no prosecutor around wants to set a precedent for allowing vigilante justice. It's shitty, but it is what it is.

I've read things that say the same, and that more than likely is the case.

The story reads as if the father misplaced his daughter, then found her.

The article the OP posted is missing quite a bit compared to the CNN one below. This article says they were casually acquainted. This happened in their home during a social gathering.

If this guy is charged, we need to find out if he has a legal defense fund and give him a hand. IMO that was done in defense of his family.
