Ex just texted me that our daughter will not be going to daycare today and will be spending the day with her. I hope she plans on finding her another daycare. I'll be doing just that on my lunch today. Keeping hope that there is an opening at the place I've had my eye on for over a year.

I have her on the waiting list at a nearby daycare. The one that I wanted her to be in originally. Looked up both on the state website. The one I want her in has been cited 5 times in the past 2 years ranging from paperwork issues to the worst being ants in the outdoor playground.

Her current daycare has been cited 23 times. Ranging from injury reports signed by someone other then the parents, unsigned injury reports, at one time 6 employees without background checks.

My ex hasn't said anytHing else other then what the cost was at the other daycare. I dropped off all the info for her at her parents mailbox and had her added to the waiting list. Good thing about this school is that they have video cameras as well.

I was actually surprised when we moved back to Texas and found that many professional daycare providers don't have cameras in their facilities. Hell we were living in a town of about 10,000 people before we moved back and they not only had 2 cameras in every room, but in the parking lot as well. They also had an electronic check in and out procedure was via password(with someone also at the front counter to attend it), like on a pin pad, only with full keyboard. Not only that but they would ID anyone that wasn't the parent, even if they were on the authorized list to make sure they were who they say they were when picking up your child. You just can't be too careful these days.

Parents aren't bad people for needing dependable child care.

Child care facilities tend to make the majority of said facilities look like baby death camps, but that's nothing to do with the parents necessity for daycare. That's all on those businesses for being shit to parents and children.

I know, but he is one of their strong supporters and voices it frequently.

I think it's funny to hear some people say your child should never be in a daycare setting. Seems like that usually comes from someone who has a family member(like a non working grandmother, etc) that watches their child(ren) in their own home for free. Which, just fyi, just because your child is not going to an actual licensed business, doesn't change the fact that paying an individual to come to your home, or paying a long time neighbor or friend of the family, etc, to watch your child it is still considered daycare. They are caring for your child during the day while you and/or your significant other is working to make a wage to better provide for the family.

Well its apparent the director did not like being recorded. This was on the door when I went to see my daughter after her lunchtime.

Effective Dec 21, 2010. the use of cellphones, recording equipment or video equipment is no longer allowed in the building. This will be strictly enforced, Sorry for the inconvenience, this is for the safety of the children.

Keeping with this new rule we also havebeen forced to change our policy on visitors in the building. Visitors will no longer be allowed to visit between 10:00amand 4:00pm ib a regular basis. This does not include special events or occasions. We must also do this for the safety of all children.

If you have anyquestions, please feel free to come see Ken Latimer.
We hope this transition will be a smooth one and we look forward to a wonderful and improved Happy new year

                          Thank You

LOL at policy changes in the name of safety. I wonder where I have seen that before?

I was told by the state licensing office that an Open Door Policy was required. However, today I was told that this daycare was a private facility and did not have to have an open door policy.

I called the gentleman responsible for this area and he's out of the office until the first of the year. I called and left a message with the area supervisor after that.
