no need to buy a spacetaker 2000, get her a bike maybe? My wife and I both have bikes and we go on rides atleast every other night, gets her out of the house,something you can do together.satisfaction is the death of desire...

I'd stay away from the cheap ones that people are selling for 50-100 bucks. If they're asking $400+ for it on CL and that same model sells for $700+, I'd be more inclined to buy that one knowing it's (typically) better quality.
We have one from Walmart that was $400 new and surprisingly it's holding up quite well and is very sturdy. The "cloths hanger" effect has almost taken place a few times, that's when I snap out of it and jump back on it.

I'm not here to argue about personal trainers, I don't give a damn. What did work is a schedule provided and then the wife did her own things. If she can run through the summer (morning or evenings), it maybe worth a treadmill for the winter.
I can understand feeling self conscience running outside around neighbors, friends and so forth. That's hurdle #1 to get over though. It's all mental anyway. (most people look at even the fattest person running and admire them for giving it a go.)
