    San Antonio?

    Aside from the typical tourist type of places (Sea World, Fiesta Texas, Alamo, and River Walk) what are some other things to do down there? I'll be down there with my dad and brothers next week and we're looking for things to do. We're staying at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch and they don't offer much. Not really looking for shopping or anything like that. I found a place to go skeet shooting and I imagine we'll do that one day but I need more.


    Any ideas?

      That's what I was afraid of... we got stuck with a few days at the Wild Oak Ranch that we have to use, so we're trying to make the most of it. There's nothing wrong with all the tourist type stuff, we've just done it numerous times.

                        There isn't a whole lot to do unless you really know the city well. Go eat at Mi Tierra on Dolorosa, get a huge cinnamon roll at Lulu's, looks like they're hosting a bowl game if you like football, walk el mercado and/or riverwalk (both tourist-y, but they do special stuff during the holidays), Fiesta Texas might have a christmas light show at night, or if all else fails, go to Austin.

                              Just for the hell of it, go visit the Menger Hotel. Lot's of history there and a damned nice restaurant too.
                              Best part is the old bar downstairs. It's not much and is small but some history there too. Teddy Roosevelt recruited most of the Rough Riders in that bar. Kind of cool to sit there, have a drink and contemplate what went on, way back then.

                              TLC (or History Chan) did an episode there also, on haunted places.
