Oh I am not saying there is anything at all with going into a different branch doing the infantry thing; alot of those "useless in civilian life" mos' look very interesting and fun at times, I am just saying what I did worked out for me in the long run and I suggest he look into something like that. Of course being an Avionics Tech in the Air Force, I never got to play with rocket launchers or anything really cool, so it does have its downside.

Of course on the upside there are all the Air Force chicks that have daddy issues.

After BRM we were all allowed to buy a large meatlover's pizza and 2 liter of coke. Everyone was the same and 4 hours later when we did a 4 mile run, everyone of us threw up

I went through that shit hole in 04 and there was no way in hell I was getting or thinking about getting Taco Bell. I was lucky enough to get a bag of Halls cough drops.

According to my contract, Ill head up there mid/late november for BT, have a choice to leave during Christmas, and then finish up BT afterwards. My AIT is seperate.

Thanks for the advice, and no need for PM. I bet it's going to be cold as hell. I had an alcohol charge that needed to be waived. Based on what I have been told, I can get clearance after being in for some time if I want a different MOS.

Is it the recruiter telling you you can't get cleared? Their input on that matter is about .000001% for a SECRET. NACI is who will make the decission to grant you, not anyone in the Army. I have seen people with DUIs get cleared before. What NACI wants to hear is that you are honest and can be trusted with "secrets".

I did the same went air force and became a f15 crew chief. 15 years later I'm still in aviation and get paid pretty damn good to play with corporate airplanes.
