You aren't getting on post housing as an E4 unless you're married and then you're on a list that can run years long. As an E4, you're also not moving off post if you're single. You're in the barracks. I had to wait 3 weeks after I was married to be allowed to move off post and my stipend didn't cover my rent. Still, i wasn't in the barracks where they could do room inspections and I could have privacy so it was worth a chunk of my E4 pittance.

I think we were given BAH/BAS (housing/food) of about 1k a month. Housing in the ghettos was 1200 a month. Where I lived in Copperas Cove ran about 1500 a month for a duplex.

i wasn't trying to make it look that way. i was trying to figure out why the people having sex should get punished and not the pissers.

looking at it now i actually see how things a lot of you post as things officers should be punished for and things i see as petty are really the exact same from opposite standpoints. example being the people having sex/pissers.

Oh no. If you're messing with someone in your chain of command you need to lose rank. IF you split up, guess who has the upper hand. That protects the lower soldier as well as the higher. And that can fuck up an entire unit.

No. Not in your chain, fuck that. If they're so in love, bust them to the same rank and let them go from there.

As far as I'm concerned, it's all in black and white in the regs. and UCMJ.
It's been a while and I do have a TBI. Is pissing on the corpses of the enemy in the UCMJ?

          Serious question.

It's covered under your general orders and Geneva. I'm honestly not sure about UCMJ.

Unless they've updated Geneva since Geneva 3, insurgents aren't covered as they aren't from a specific country that has declared war against us and/or wearing the uniform of a hostile country.

So, I'm confused. You still think losing a couple days pay is the same as losing rank?

for the most part. you basically stated that living off base is your option. your option is to put yourself at a higher risk for being assed out if you lose rank and not being able to pay bills.

if i get suspended a couple of days i dont have anywhere else to turn (like being able to live on base).

That changed when we declared war against an un-uniformed enemy. There's growing case law giving the enemy more and more rights, unfortunately.

As for UCMJ, most applicable article I can think of is 134, General Article as it brings disgrace to the US.

No, it didn't change. The law is in black and white. If it doesn't cover it in Geneva, it just doesn't cover it.

However the Disgrace to the US thing? Possibly. I can see a defense but it's possible but a reach.

Oh if you're off base you don't get to come back on. There's no room. If you lose your house, you bunk up with a battle buddy. If you get suspended, the next payday may hurt but the one after that is normal.

If I lose rank, it's YEARS before I make that rank back. You dont' see the difference between losing pay for a couple days and losing over half of your paycheck for years?

what constitutes you droping 3 ranks like the example you provided?

They can, but the Geneva law doesn't. Interpretation versus actual law
