Oh that, I completely agree with. Absolutely. Nothing should have been done to them as there should have been no pictures. Since there were pictures, knock them down rank which costs cash. They're already in combat so what are you going to do? Make their lives harder?

You mean the duty of defending themselves in a firefight? You pull anyone from a fireteam and you get people killed. I've dealt in a team down a man or two and when I left Iraq that was my biggest issue. They're already in Afghanistan. Remove their rank, put them on extra duty and move on. They pissed on terrorists who were shooting at them. I'd have pissed on them and covered them in pig blood.

War is hell. People getting shot at have adrenaline rushes and aren't thinking on a civilized level. Unless you've done it and had someone shoot at you and kill your friends in front of you and then you're expected to be all nice and friendly with them immediately afterwards, dont' condemn them. It's war, not a police action where the other side is protected by Geneva or the Constitution.

I'm just like them? Perhaps. I understand the mindset and what happens in and after combat. They were punished for that, which I disagree with. Which is more than I can say about a lot of police officers.

What's the point of the OP? Some adults fooled around with other adults. They weren't supposed to, and they broke the rules. It's not like the girls were 15.

Yes because we should care. It's war, not negotiations. The men in question were being shot at before it happened and they killed their attackers. At that point, it's a chunk of meat they pissed on.

Military combatants in an active war zone verses citizens who you work for in their neighborhood? This really needs to be spelled out?

Us all? I didn't do it. No one I knew did it. I thought it was fitting though. Especially since if they catch us, they saw our heads off with dull blades, take our bodies and set them on fire on overpasses or while being drug behind trucks. They slit our throats on webcam while televising it to CNN for showing to our families.

You'll forgive me if I don't shed anymore blood for them than I already have
