I love craigslist. Maybe it's because I buy/sell diesel stuff, and the ultra-flake demographic is less represented in that crowd?

there are dirt bags and ricers in the diesel world too, but 99% of them are either rich kids, rednecks, rich rednecks, or redneck kids... people who don't care about money or are too salt of the earth to rip somebody else off

It's not just craigslist, even gun deals can get stupid.

Case in point: Was selling my Gen 2 Glock 22. Had a price of $450. Get a guy on the line, says he wants to meet up and take a look at it. I developed this new rule after many many botched Craigslist deals. I don't travel further than 15 minutes or 5 miles. I met at the QT off 377 in Keller (4.9 miles from my house).

He looks at it, says he loves it, really wants it...but hes looking a Beretta 92 later that night. At this point, I slam my document book closed (I do bills of sales) and put the gun in it's case and say "let me know", even though I know I wont hear from him ever again.

I guess he bought the Beretta.

Got a call that evening. Different guy met me in Roanoke and bought it for $440. Drove a REALLY nice Corvette. He took a look at it, said "perfect" and I was done in under 5 min.

You win some, you lose some.

Agreed, I no longer drive far for sales. If I'm selling you're driving, if you want to meet further away you need to find someone closer.

I collect guitars off and on, and some have come off of CL. Most of the time, people want top dollar for their item, but your's isn't worth shit. I don't do much at all anymore, becasue I'm tired of driving a long way to look at a "like new" $800 guitar that I wouldn't wipe my ass with. On the other hand, I've sold a few and when people show up, they're like,"Damn...that's clean." No shit. I said "like new" in the ad, didn't I?

As far as lowballers go, some people on this board have no room to talk.

That's the best. When I buy something I just want to make sure it's good, give em money, and get the fuck out. I expect the same when i'm dealing with a buyer.

I'm not trying to make new friends. I'm not trying to hear their life story.

and now he sends me back a pm saying he could get it for cheaper. Why the fuck even send me a pm, ask to meet up, then request to pay less than I'm asking, and then get butthurt about it? Typical shit. I just add his e-mail to my ignored list and he'll never buy from me again.

One guy in a camaro came and looked at the seats. He just got this camaro a few days prior and he starts telling me about how the car is bone stock and he wants to start doing stuff to it. Then goes on asking me if I thought he has a sweet car. I think this is the first time in my life that someone asked me if i thought they had a "sweet" car... I almost died laughing but kept a straight face and just said "yeah man, i like the red camaros"

When I was selling my white 86 I would get stupid offers. I would mess with them and asked how much money did they want from me to trade even though their cars were pieces of crap. One guy on this site pm'd me wanting to know if I would trade for a 88 gt roller with the motor out of the car. And the motor was stock. Car was stock too

People messaging me to tell me my item is listed to high or points out flaws pisses me off more than anything. 1) It sells, so fuck you and your mother. 2) You aren't anybody that should be telling me what I should list my item for. 3) Fuck you.
When ever someone ask my "bottom dollar" or "lowest I'll take" I just retort with what's the most you'll pay? I hate that shit, if I'm asking $250, I want $250.
