It would be cheaper for me to just buy a hood. Deductible and rate increases FTL.

Has anyone used Spirit airlines, what is the deal are you crammed in there like sardines or what, why is it so cheap?
Never flown on Spirit, but even $450-500 isn't a bad deal. I was just up in Saginaw/Bay City area, and spent 2 days shopping around for the best deal. Just about everyone was $900/pp round trip. I tried all kinds of different shit. Flying to Detroit, renting a car and driving 2-3 hours, flying to Flint, renting a car and driving 40-45 minutes. Or just flying in to MBS (Saginaw). I ended up flying to MBS, with 2 layovers each way, for $750/RT. the only thing I didn't check, and I bet would have been cheaper, was flying in to Canada, and renting a car to drive down.

That would be a pita. Airport Customs when you land, then driving back through customs twice..then airport customs leaving. No thanks I hate airport customs. Especially with angry canadians thinking were taking jobs. it would actually cost more in billable hours to sit through that much time with customs and layovers than just buying a direct.

It is so cheap because you pay for everything. Checked bags, CARRYONS, refreshments, and I believe they sell ad space everywhere.

Meh... I guess it all depends on purpose. We don't charge billable hours, so that's not a concern of mine. And while I realize it wasn't optimal, it wouldn't have been any worse than the route I ended up going with. DFW to STL to ORD to MBS, and then MBS to ORD to LIT to DFW with a 90-120 minute layover at each.

I've flown spirit a few times. I enjoyed my flights. On my last flight back from Vegas on spirit I got a free upgrade to the largest seat on the plane somehow.

Yeah we paid 450.00 per person last year but cheaper is always better.

Spirit is completely no frills. You pay for carry-ons, checked baggage, and seating. If you pick your seat, you pay. If you want bulkhead seating, you pay. If you want large seating, you pay.

FWIW, Spirit has a coupon code for $24 off: 24OFF

                  It expires tonight, though.

Flying in general is just getting too expensive. Charging for bags, soon will be charging for aisle/window seats as well.

I will never fly Spirit ever again. We flew them to Bahamas from FLL. It was fine. We were staying a nice hotel in Freeport, packed up and got to the airport and they said "flight was cancelled". No reason, nothing. I asked why they hadn't called us, they said they did...yeah right.

Had to pay $300 out of pocket to fly Bahamian Air to get back home so I wouldn't be fired Monday morning for not showing up.

I would recommend signing up for Airfarewatchdog. It alerts you to any flights from and to any destination in US. Flying wife and I to Ft. Walton/Pensacola for less than $500 RT...it's possible.

Yeah he is... Bastard. He and I had a funny exchange about that the other day. I tried talking him out of it, but he's as stubborn as Levi is.

It's truly a match made in heaven. We met in November, and it's all been wonderful! It's like Craig and Leah's deal. Except two dudes. This relationship isn't like the last marriage I just finalized the divorce on at the beginning of may. He's got a son, Lucas, that I babysit from time to time. He likes doing all the things I do!
