The only reason that drugs cost you tax dollars is because the government wants it to cost you tax dollars. Hospitals have a little bit of trouble turning a guy away who's having a heart attack because he's been super-sizing his breakfast lunch and dinner for the last decade.

BTW, what's Kyles condition? He takes drugs? Over half the nation is on some form of medication with side effects MUCH worse than anything marijuana can do to a person.

To those that aren't suffering with being overweight, I can understand how you lack the compassion and patience with the emotional turmoil an overweight person suffers from. It's a death spiral that quickly gets out of hand, a very helpless feeling. To you "skinny" people, its nothing but exuses, and you're right. But when you're suffering from depression and withdrawls, it's hard to deal rationally and stick to a program and even harder to stick to it when you have people being cruel to you.
I havent seen a pic of you at 300lbs but the pics I have seen you dont look morbidly obese. Just heavy for your height. You seem to have the drive to get where you need to be.

The market you're referring to is largely catered to by our fellow citizens. I don't smoke shitty mexican herb, nor do i use the cocaine, herion, meth, or anything else that comes across our southern border. Why are they discussing obesity and taxing it, while they decriminalize marijuana? Becuause someone with half a brain realized that hey, the guys smoking a little herb at night after work aren't the ones costing us BILLIONS a year! Meanwhile, the largely obese population here at home has cost us in countless ways, other than just monetarily.
How is it painfully obvious? Because I'm overweight, I must just sit around and do nothing all the time right? Wrong.

If you think "training" is just sitting around and going through a technique, than you are more than welcome to come out to see if you can make it through a workout. I've lost over 50lbs, but that number doesn't fully represent my progress because I have gained quite abit of muscle in the process as well. My cardio is better than it has ever been. I workout six days a week, jogging, boxing, mma workouts (hardest workout you will ever have in your life if you come try it) hours of mat time in BJJ(again, come try it, I bet you can't go 5 minutes without being winded), also started yoga recently, I also have a two year little girl that won't let me "just sit around online all day". I chase her around all day, everyday, we are active outside at the parks when the weather permits, we go for walks around the block all the time.

You're assuming alot of things about me based on appearance stereotypes, but it's not completely your fault either you think this way. I didn't get to be overweight by being active like I should have been. So it's partially my fault you think that way, but anyone who faithfully believes in stereotypes is ignorant. I hope to one day fit your criteria of what is acceptable in order to make YOU feel better.

I know what training is, as i too attend bjj classes. If you really think because you train an hour or two a week that you're in better shape, you're probably mistaken. You're right it is an intense workout and I often am winded... but what's that got to do with anything? I guess if anything it proves that both of us leave something to be desired in the cardio department.

You're right.. I am assuming a lot. It is my fault, but it's the way nature is and the way life works. Animals often have to compete to find the best mate to ensure their species survives, and to a degree I believe we still have that built into us - an "assesment" system of sorts.

I'm obviously not blindly faithful and recognize that there will always be exceptions to the rule, but in general terms (how this thread originally began), yes i'm prejudiced and judgemental towards obese people. It may not be right, it may not be proper, but it is what it is.

I get 15-18 hours a week, 6 days a week on the mat. At 2 hours a week, you're seriously slacking.

2 days 2 hours a pop.. but i'm not there for the workout. Just the knowledge and muscle memory. unfortunately it's across town from where i work, and it's a PITA to get there on time.

Find a place closer to work. Do it all the way, or don't bother. Just doing the techniques isn't going to get you anywhere.

If you are getting in 15-18 hours a week and only lost 50 pounds in 8 months you must be putting some serious calories into your pie hole.

Not looking down or "differently" at you. Just making an observation from experience.

I put up 15-20 hours of work each week on average (swimming/biking/running/crossfit) through out the year. I eat about 3500 calories in 7 meals a day and maintain at 175-178 at roughly 8% body fat. Yea, I'm a nutrition nerd and even have a food scale and weigh my pasta.

You are averaging (based on a 50 pounds drop in weight) a deficit of about 700-750 calories a day. I assume 2 hours a day of mat work would consume 1000-1200 calories. Your BMR at your weight is probably around 2300 calories.

So 1200+750+2300 -> 4250 calories a day consumption. My guess would be you could easily reduce your caloric intake by 500 calories a day running a deficit 1200 calories which would be 125 pounds in a year's time.

                        What do you eat?

                          • Unless he gets a serious illness or injury and can't afford to pay for the medical procedures... then he's infringing on muh taxes and insurances!

Do you look down on people who ride motorcycles? I do. They're far more likely to get injured in an accident than someone who doesn't ride and they cost us cagers extra money! Wah, I'm fucking perfect.

I'm still learning through a trial and error process on eating. My metabolism is very slow still because of my slow to change on eating breakfast. Most of my life I've never eaten breakfast and had a serious addiction to sodas. I still have alot of improvements to make on my diet, I'm aware of that, but I am working on it. Every pound I lose is a battle, it doesn't just drop off for me like it does for alot heavy people who first begin to lose weight. It seems to be easier for me to gain muscle these days, rather than lose weight.
